Intense Reading - Critical Thinking
According to Wikipedia, Critical Thinking “…includes, but is not exhausted by the mental process of analyzing or evaluating information, … Critical thinkers can gather such information from reflection, observation, experience, reasoning, and/or reading, writing, speaking and listening. Critical thinking has its basis in intellectual criteria that go beyond subject-matter divisions and which include: clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, logic, significance, fairness.”
Why is it important? In college, students are expected to learn a great deal on their own. A+ Intense Reading class will introduce students to writings of different subjects (science, socioeconomics, literature, politics, and more) that require higher critical thinking skills.
